Short but suggestive itinerary that develops along a stretch of the Nestore stream between the small villages of Castiglione della Valle and Mercatello, in the territory of the Municipality of Marsciano.
Starting from Mercatello, pedal in the direction of Cibottola until the beginning of a steep climb, where you leave the paved road to follow on the right a beautiful dirt road almost under S. Apollinare, visible on the opposite hill beyond the Nestore. Just before the bridge, turn left and along farm roads that run along the watercourse and cross a suggestive countryside, you will reach Castiglione della Valle.
After crossing the Nestore, you temporarily enter the Provincial road for Spina to soon take a natural track on the right that points straight towards the town of Pieve Caina. After the bridge over the Caina and upon reaching the small village, keep to the right until you enter the path that re-enters the woods and leads us to the Pod. Monticchio.
From here until under S. Apollinare, you cycle on a comfortable dirt road between cultivated fields (often with tobacco) and a wood of centuries-old oaks. Continue straight until you reach the word Osteria and then the starting point of Mercatello.
