To reach the sanctuary of the Madonna dei Miracoli, you have to go to Castel Rigone, a small hamlet of Passignano sul Trasimeno. The sanctuary is located just outside the walls of the border, and is among the best Renaissance constructions in Umbria. The building was built in 1494, with the contribution of the Perugia Municipality, as a place of protection from the plague; for this reason, by the will of Pope Alexander VI, he took the title of the Most Holy Mary of Miracles. The structure was entirely made of sandstone: the facade is the work of Domenico Bertini, while the squat bell tower was rebuilt in 1851, after the collapse of the previous one in 1531. The sanctuary has a Latin cross plan, with a single wide nave . Inside there are valuable works by Domenico Alfani, Tommaso Bernabei known as "il Papacello", G. B. Caporali and Bernardo by Girolamo Rosselli.
