CASTIGLIONE DEL LAGO
The palace built by Galeazzo Alessi in the mid-1500s commissioned by the Marquis Ascanio della Corgna is an admirable example of the Italian Renaissance.
The interiors feature a cycle of frescoes by Niccolò Circignani known as Pomarancio, and an antiquarium with Etruscan and Roman finds from the area.
A narrow walkway connects the Palazzo to the Rocca dating back to 1247 with a pentagonal plan that refers to the constellation of Leo, also considered for this, like Trasimeno Lake, a sacred and mysterious place.
