It is part of the Municipality of Castiglione del Lago and is the largest of the three islands. It preserves interesting historical memories such as the Church of San Secondo, the Olivetano Monastery, the Church of San Giuliano, a recently restored 14th century castle. Very interesting is “Piscina del Porcinai" (Garden of Aquatic Plants), built in the late fifties by the landscape architect Pietro Porcinai. The island offers an example of environmental management according to sustainability criteria, which has led, among other things, to the organization of a scientific – educational park with research, training and environmental education activities. During the year, it hosts tourist / environmental and cultural initiatives. The island is equipped with accommodation facilities for comfortable stays.
