Tuoro is located on the north side of Trasimeno between Umbria and Tuscany. In the municipal area, 4 thematic itinerant itineraries have been created that embrace the history and art of the Municipality. First of all, the Historical-Archaeological Path of the Battle of Trasimeno which crosses the countryside that was the scene of the clash between the Romans and the Carthaginians. It is made up of 12 rest areas where arrangements were made with illustrated panels and captions, in 4 languages, which tell the unfolding of the battle. The second is a naturalistic path that through the splendid woods crossed by the “Rio" stream leads to the Torre di Vernazzano which presents itself to the visitor with its vertiginous slope. “Campo del Sole" is the third route and is an architecture of 27 columns carved in local stone (pietra serena) set up in a monumental park on the banks of the Trasimeno. The fourth route, insists on Isola Maggiore and represents a journey through the Franciscan and Renaissance history of the small lake island, without neglecting the important presence of the art of lace in Punto d´Irlanda. It also includes important monuments of the island such as the splendid frescoed church of S. Michele Arcangelo, the Documentation Center on Isola Maggiore and the Lace Museum.
