Pietrafitta and its lignite mines, where numerous and important fossil finds were found in the 1960s, considered one of the richest paleontological heritages in Europe, now preserved in the “Luigi Boldrini" Paleontological Museum; Lake Pietrafitta, a paradise for fishermen (carpfishing) and fitness lovers.

Mount Arale, which with its 853 meters above sea level constitutes the highest relief in the area, and is equipped with a new equipped park.

Going up towards the ancient village of Piegaro, you will come across the small church of the Madonna della Crocetta (16th century).

The surrounding walls are then discovered, with medieval towers.In the historic center, the Church of San Silvestro Papa should be noted, as well as the beautiful Misciattelli – Pallavicini palace, built in the eighteenth century, which today houses a period residence.
